Worst Feeling

So, since the weather has been changing and its cooler outside, I tried on some of my pants from this past winter and I couldn't button them up! So, needless to say, I am officially going on a diet! Living with a grandmother who cooks the most amazing country food makes it very hard, but I'm going to eat small proportions instead or refilling after my first plate! Wish me luck!! My Goal: To be able to fit in my clothes from last year. I probably need to lose at least 10 pounds. Gotta stay committed!

Hard times at work: I like to wear my glasses so I feel important and studious :)

Some say I look like an elementary school teacher.

The Little Things

Dear Mya,
As I sit here and watch you sleep, I thank God for making what could have been such a burden on me, such a blessing. You are amazing. I am so lucky to have such a smart, bright and CUTE daughter. Tonight after church, we went out to eat with Ashlynn and you started singing "Jesus Loves Me" (or at least, your version) and I could have cried. You're so innocent and I pray that you would keep that and make wise decisions. You are so loved and cherished by your family. You are going to be such a light in other's lives. Although you aren't living in an ideal home with a mom and dad, I am going to do everything I can to love you enough for 10 parents. And I know God is right by my side giving me strength and wisdom to take care of you... he did give you to me because NO baby is a mistake in His eyes. :) I love you so much and I am so proud of you! Love, Mommy.

Goodness Me.

It's almost 2 in the morning, and I can't sleep. This past weekend, my little one was with her daddy and tonight I had school, so I miss her very much! Sometimes when she is here, I take it for granted and don't realize how much fun she is until she is gone.

This mommy's busy schedule:
Monday - Work, School
Tuesday - Work, Christmas Play Practice (starts next week!)
Wednesday - Work, School
Thursday - Work, Church
Friday - Work, TGIF!
Saturday - Piano Lessons in the AM (:
Sunday - Church, Lunch, Nap, Church

Life is too short! And so is the sunlight!

The best is yet to come... <3

I could love this!

Officially my 2nd blog, already! Two blogs... one day. Yikes!

A friend from work, Lauryn Galloway (whom I adore!) has turned me towards blogging and although I dont hold too much free time in my hands, this could work out! I am enjoying it. Maybe a little too much. It's one of those things that when something happens, I am going to say to myself, "I have to blog about that!" So dont feel obligated to read all. You could get bored.

So let me explain the title of my blog page
(which is "Snow, Fireflies & Hair-bows")

Snow- As you know, I am a teenage mother, therefore I gave away my purity before God had desired it to be given. Eric and Leslie Ludy wrote a book called "When God Writes Your Love Story" (amazing!) and in it, Leslie says that even though some have made mistakes, we can be washed "White as Snow," through Jesus. She even has a song about it, which is beautiful. I loved their book so much that I order 3 different books from them. They are so good, especially for single girls! You should check out their website- www.setapartgirl.com where you can order this book and many others that speak straight to your heart.

Fireflies- There is a song from Faith Hill called "Fireflies" and I love it. It reminds me of being a little girl and being so innocent.

"Before i grew up i heard you whisper so loud
'life is hard, and so is love, child, believe in all these things'
I found mayonnaise bottles and poked holes on top
To capture tinkerbell
And they were just fireflies to the untrained eye
But i could always tell"

Hair-bows- Who doesn't love hair-bows?
Having a little girl is so much fun!

New in Town

Soo... I would consider this my first post! So let me introduce myself:

My name is Ashley.
I have a 2 year old daughter named Mya.
She is amazing! And so smart.
Love church services, activities and friends.
Enjoy Jesus :) and growing my relationship with Him.
Recently signed up for Piano Lessons!
...Need a hobby other than changing diapers.
Working with my daughter on potty training.
Want to help others.
Very organized.
Work at a bank.
Looking for an apartment with two great friends.
Love nature, thunderstorms, mountains and the country.
Food is my weakness!
Get excited over text messages & e-mails.
Fascinated with wedding cakes.
Hate throw-up!

And if you haven't guessed or noticed yet... I am a single teenage mother. Being only 19 is tough with working, school, baby, church, etc. But I'm not in this alone! I have been so blessed with great friends and family that help me tremendously! As my subtitle says, I am "Saved By Grace!" I have pretty much grown up in church my whole life, but I fell a few years ago and obviously, thats how I got my wonderful baby girl. But no mistake is she! God has put her in my life for a reason, and I don't know where I would be without her. Many people judge the fact that I am a teenage mother, but why worry about something I can't change? I try and make the best of it!

Something I am passionate about:

Obviously, pregnant teenagers, single moms, teenage moms, etc. because I have been there, so I am hoping that I can be a light to others out there! I know that God puts obstacles in my life for some reason, so I want to use my past for helping others and making the best of it.

And also- broken families, broken homes, abused children, etc. I really have a heart for this. But we will maybe talk about that later!

And now you know a little about me! Welcome!
